Description

This vintage ruffle collar red silk blouse is from revered French designer Ted Lapidus. Lapidus popularised sports utility wear and the safari suit look along with Yves Saint Laurent in the 1960s and '70s. A great example of 1970s daywear from this renowned but under-the-radar French designer. The blouse has a poet look about it with generous amounts of fabric in the bodice and sleeves.  This gives the piece great versatility and could be styled a number of ways; either tucked in, loose and flowing or accessorised with a belt. The striking and solid block of bold red silk fabric is contrasted with a triple layered ruffle neckline and corresponding ribbon neckties in additional colours of purple and ochre. This blouse slips on over the head and fastens at the bust with silk covered buttons - also present on the cuffs - which stop halfway down the front. It is unlined.

The size label is not present but we suggest this will best fit UK size 6-10 or US 2-6. It is 100% Silk. In very good gently used vintage condition - the colours are very fresh looking and the silk retains its lustre.
