Description

Late 1950s to early 1960s piece by designer Victor Josselyn who used premium fabrics and production values to produce fashionable clothing for high end department stores in Great Britain during the 1940s - 1960s. The dress is cut in a classic tea dress shape with short, dropped shoulder sleeves and a neat V-shape neckline. It is gathered under the bust to create a lovely soft feminine shape with a wide and flattering waist panel. The skirt portion is pleated all around to create volume and movement which was so typical of the silhouettes of the era. Although unlined, the dress itself is completely opaque, featuring a delicate pink and green rosebud spray design over soft grey silk, with a slight luminosity to it – the perfect piece for summer. Photographed here without a petticoat but one can be added for extra volume and the wow factor!.

In excellent vintage condition with no flaws, fade or issues. There are discreet belt loops although the original belt has unfortunately become separated over time; could easily be replaced with a belt of your choice or the removal of the loops themselves. Best fit for a up to a size UK 8 or US 4 and smaller. Our model is a UK 6-8 and 5ft 4in. (163cm) and this dress was a great fit on her.
