1960’s Victor Costa Pale Pink Satin Dress with Rhinestone Belt
Description
This lovely 1960s silk satin shift dress in pale pink is an early piece from American designer Victor Costa and maintains a beautiful balance of style and formality for which its designer is renowned. The thick satin fabric is expertly tailored with a simple line that draws neatly at the waist and flares from the hip into an A line skirt finishing just below the knee. It is sleeveless with a boat neckline, and fitted snugly over the bust. There are deep concealed pockets to the front level with the hip on either side, and a central zip fastening at the reverse. The dress features an exquisite belt comprised of a fluted ribbon of satin fabric entwined with a length of prong set rhinestones. This fastens with a hook eye closure at the reverse and consolidates with a bow detail. The dress is fully lined in rich soft cotton and is in very good vintage condition overall. The only point of of note is that the hem has been altered at the bottom and this cannot be undone due to the full seam allowance being used. Will fit up to US size 6-8, UK size 10-12.
