1960s Jean Lang Lightweight Cotton Floral Dress
Description
A fabulous lightweight cotton 1960s dress by Jean Lang. The Jean Lang Dress Company was an American fashion house founded by the designer John Lang in 1916 in Minneapolis. They produced quality manufactured garments right up unto the 1970s – this dress is from their mainline range. The abstract floral print is in very striking cool tones of greens, teal, cerise and indigo. The dress has very nice design features like the piped edging on the neckline and the same piped seam at the waist. There is a little attached decoration made of padded ribbon that has been folded behind a decorative dress clip made up of green Aurora borealis stones and small seed pearls - such wonderful details!
The dress is fully lined in the same lightweight cotton. Construction wise, the dress is of excellent manufactured quality and the condition is absolutely beautiful. The only thing we noticed were one or two tiny seed pearls missing from the waist decoration but these are not at all noticeable and could easily be replaced - if I find the right size I'll pop them in. It's a good size for vintage and will be a best fit around a UK 10-12 or US 6-8.
