1990s Moschino Cheap & Chic Black Beaded Textured Slip Dress
Description
Textured black wool A-line Moschino shift dress. The front features a gentle round neckline whilst the fabric is made up of a fine black mesh with knitted floral overlay, complete with oversized flower detail. The fabric is also interwoven with very fine black beading, which gives it a gentle shimmer.
The perfect understated dress with a mod to the 1960s for events and parties. It comes with its original black slip and dates from the very late 1990s through to mid 2000s. In fabulous vintage condition, with no faults or stains to note. The sizing label is no longer in the dress and it would best fit up to a size 10 UK, or 6 US.
Note on Designer:
Born in Abbiategrasso, Italy in 1950, Franco Moschino studied painting at the Accademia di Belle Arti, Milan, where he supplemented his income with work as a fashion illustrator. In 1971, he began work as an illustrator for Italian designer Gianni Versace. Following his time at Versace, Moschino went on to work for the fashion house Cadette in 1977 alongside Karl Lagerfeld. In 1983, Moschino launched Moschino Couture and found enormous success before his untimely death in 1994. He was succeeded by his long time collaborator, Rossella Jardini, and then Jeremy Scott in 2013. Scott has continued the fashion house's similarly irreverent approach to whimsical design and surrealism. Long live Moschino!
