1930s Black Lace Sleeveless Dress with Wrap Over Neckline

This beautifully made 1930s black lace maxi dress is one of the best we have had for some time. Gowns of this era are extremely collectable, particularly when they’re in such rare excellent condition. It is tailored from inky black lace patterned with vines and spiralling forms and a sheer finish. It falls to a floor-skimming length, is sleeveless and the neckline is trimmed with sheer chiffon which forms a zig-zagging pattern down the lengths of the v-shape. The dress is tailored wrap-over style at the front, giving way to a gently cinched waistband. Unlined and, as a result, has a peekaboo, skin-flashing finish. We have found the perfect silk chiffon slip which we have gently attached to the shoulders and added new ribbon straps. It is easily removed to wear separately if desired. For modern red carpets and event dressing, these 30's lace dresses look spectacular on their own or over modern underwear and bodysuits.

In excellent antique condition with no flaws of any note; it is a very well made piece although no labels remain in the dress. Please check the measurements below as the fabric has no stretch. We believe this would best fit a UK 8 or US 4.
