2015 Balmain Cream and Gold Beaded Black Jersey Maxi-Dress
Description
This weighty, embellished dress was designed by creative director Olivier Rousteing for Balmain's Resort 2015 collection. The Vogue review made reference to how the pieces were "lavishly beaded in Native American motifs", and this dress was no exception. Elaborate beadwork forms a collar and wide waistband, detailed with large black and ivory coloured cylindrical beads finished with shimmering stripes of gold-tone metal. These beads are accompanied by rows of tiny, rounded black beads and rectangular stones in cream and black at the waist. Generously tailored from soft black jersey, the skirt is pleated at the front of the waist. It splits into multiple panels of fabric as it falls, cascading around the legs and ending in a waterfall hem around the ankles. The neckline is high, and the gown is sleeveless, with draped fabric gathered at the neckline and waistband. The dress fastens with a chunky gold-tone exposed zip at the rear. It is unlined.
The dress is in excellent condition and looks barely worn. The size label states that this is a French 38, UK 10 or US 6 but sizes vary across brands so please double-check our measurements below. The composition label reads 100% Viscose. The fabric has some stretch.
