1985 Chanel Large Gold Blister Pearl and Crystal Earrings
Description
These vintage Chanel pearl earrings were designed not long after Karl Lagerfeld had brought in Victoire de Castallane who became the House's creative jewellery director. Beginning in 1984 and overseeing Chanel's costume jewelry designs, she left in 1998 to become the creative director of Christian Dior's fine jewelry division.
These statement earrings feature a crystal smothered outer circle, where each crystal is individually set in a fine gold-plated bed; of note, early Chanel jewellery was always 23/24ct yellow gold-plated. In the centre is a large faux blister pearl. The designer's signature is located below the clip fastenings on both pieces, and they are also engraved with season "25" which corresponds to the year of manufacture - circa 1985. A stunning combination of kitsch and classic, De Castallane's early Chanel pieces are particularly sort after and these are a wonderful addition to any collection of vintage Chanel jewellery.
These glamorous earrings have seen little use in their lifetime and are in excellent vintage condition with no issues. We have had Chanel put new comfort backings on for the lucky new owner. Will come in a new Chanel box.
