Description

This iconic jacket was designed by Karl Lagerfeld for Chanel as part of the Spring 1991 collection. It was worn by supermodel Linda Evangelista as she carried a surfboard down the runway and featured in the campaign for that season on Christy Turlington and Linda Evangelista. It was also featured on the January 1991 cover of American Vogue. This jacket is one of the most recognisable pieces in Chanel’s history - a true piece of trophy vintage. Tailored from black silk satin, it is adorned all-over in electric blue sequins that create a shimmering scale-like skin. Taking silhouette inspiration from the zip-up front of wetsuits, it has a black tonal zip which closes the front with a circular gold-tone zip-pull finished with the brand’s double-C logo. The jacket is detailed with black grosgrain ribbon down the front, around the collar, atop four-faux pockets and trimming each of the split cuffs. The jacket is lined with black silk-satin.

This piece is in excellent archival vintage condition with no issues. It has no composition or size labels so please check the below measurements which correspond with a French 34, UK 6 or US 2. The fabric has no stretch.
