1950s Saks Fifth Avenue Embossed Pastel Wiggle Dress

This lovely 1950s pastel toned wiggle dress is labelled Saks Fifth Avenue and is in wonderful vintage condition. This piece is beautifully cut to suit an hourglass figure, with a fitted bodice and skilful tailoring to ensure the fabric fits perfectly over the hip into a straight cut mid calf length skirt. It is sleeveless with a stylish slash neckline, an attractive window at the reverse to reveal the upper back and a neatly gathered waistband with a dainty piped seam. The light blended fabric has a slight shimmer and is embossed with a rose design throughout, whilst the print is of hydrangea type blooms in pretty pastel shades - lilacs, blues, greens and white. The dress is cotton lined with a central zip fastening at the reverse. There appears to have been some subtle alterations on the shoulders which is easily reversible, but which we have left as we feel it is a skilled piece of work. This charming dress is delightfully fresh, feminine and a perfect choice for summer weddings and parties. Would fit around a US size 6-8, UK size 10 possibly small 12.
