Description

This magnificent dress was designed by French fashion house Louis Féraud for British store Rembrandt during the 1960s. Made in England, it is crafted from matte silk-look fabric in a breathtaking, pale duck egg blue shade. Cut to a deceptively simple A-line, mod silhouette and celebrating Feraud’s eye-for-detail in its adornments. The bibbed front is embroidered with glittering silver metallic forms filled with swirling stitching in tonal duck egg blue. This intricate embroidery is repeated at the waist and at the front hem of the skirt. The high collar and bibbed front form a cut-out detail which is finished with three stiff bows. The dress is fastened at the rear with a hidden zip and the belt secured at the back with two hook-and-eye clasps, but it is not removable. This dress is fully lined in the body with pale blue-grey satin feel lining. The long sleeves are narrow and have slits at the cuffs which fasten with a single snap closure.

In truly excellent vintage condition with no flaws of any note and it would make a fabulous alternative wedding dress. Due to its age it has no composition label. Labelled a size UK 10, sizes can vary between brands so please check the measurements below closely. The fabric has no stretch. We estimate a good fit for up to a UK 8 or US 4.
