Description

Documented Rudi Gurniech red and purple "cross my heart" maxi dress circa 1969. The celebrated signer and actress, Barbara Streisand, owned many of Gurniech designs including this example and we have attached a photoshoot of her wearing a checked, sleeveless version from the same year. Cut in a classic late 1960s shape, with high empire line waist and long sleeves, it features a back zip closure and a soft V neckline on both front and back. Made with a thick crimson red wool, with a contrasting purple trim detail to the bust, this piece is truly striking. There is a long central pleat to the front and back seams, adding to the fullness of the skirt. This piece would be perfect for the upcoming winter season, dressed up for parties or worn casually with chunky boots. It is in lovely vintage condition with no visible flaws, and would best fit a size 6-8 UK. Our model is a UK 6-8 and 5ft 4in (163cm) and this dress fit her well.
