Pisanti 1970s Chocolate Brown Dress with Wide Lapel Detail and Lame Bodice

This stylish 1970s Pisanti chocolate brown crepe dress with metallic check design has a host of style features. The deep brown fabric of the skirt is complemented by the metallic ribbed knitwear on the bodice and sleeves. This piece has a wide, shoulder-spanning lapel and a prominent button stand at the centre front of the dress that continues past the waist into the full, mid-calf length skirt. Closed pleats run over the navel from the waistline to just past the hip at the front of the garment to create movement in the skirt, which is beautifully lined in silk and reinforced at the hem. The wide crepe cuffs and reverse shoulder panel are attractive details and the small chrome buttons along the front pick-out the metallic detail in the bodice to wonderful effect. This piece is in excellent condition and would best suit US size 6 or small 8, UK size 10 - 12, although as the bodice is slightly elasticated, there is a little extra give in the bust and waistband.
