1970s Jean Muir Black Jersey Maxi Dress with Ribbon Work
Description
This true vintage Jean Muir black jersey maxi dress was designed during her 1970s heyday. Made in England, it features a generously cut, loose body and full-flowing skirt that falls to the floor. The elegant heavy jersey fabric is cleverly cut to skim the curves of the body in the most flattering manner. The skirt has a drop waistband, below which it is softly pleated and gives way to sweeping, floor length hemline. The neckline is cut to a gentle V-shape and trimmed with a ruffle satin ribbon in black. It is finished with a large ruffled collar, also trimmed with black ribbon. The collar parts at the back of the neck whilst the long-sleeves have a dramatic bell-cut design with gathered buttoned cuffs. The dress is unlined and fastens at the back with a hidden tonal black zip and hook-and-eye clasp.
In truly excellent vintage condition with no flaws of any note. It is made from 100% Viscose with 100% rayon trim. Labelled a UK 14 but vintage sizes vary hugely so please check our measurements below. The fabric has some stretch so please allow a small degree of flexibility.
