Description

This elegant black runway documented skirt is an early design by Karl Lagerfeld for the Chanel 1985 spring collection. Bringing the brand’s timeless sophistication to a pleated mini-skirt silhouette, this wool and silk piece has a tiered construction. The top layer is a super-short mini-skirt cut in a pencil-skirt shape which hugs the hips. The bottom layer is box-pleated and falls to just above the knee, kicking out around the wearer as they move. At the back of the skirt, sit two faux welt pockets each crowned with a black silk and gold metal button. The reverse of the buttons are debossed with a capital C alongside “CHANEL”. The back of the skirt fastens with a hidden tonal zip and hook-and-eye clasp. The inside is lined with black silk.

This piece is in excellent vintage condition with no flaws to the cloth; it looks barely worn, The quality of Chanel workmanship was exceptional during this era. It still has the original white-on-black “Chanel Boutique” label attached which is detailed with the brand’s double-C logo. The size label states that this is a French size 38, a UK size 10, but vintage sizes vary so please double-check our measurements below. The composition label states that this is 100% Wool, with a lining of 100% Silk. The fabric has no stretch.
