Description

This skirt is from Dolce & Gabbana's highly glamorous mainline collection and walked the runway for the design duo's 2010 spring presentation, look 42 of 63. Crochet knitting, which can only be made by hand, has long-been a beloved signature of the fashion house and we love the intricate overlapping design of this playful short skirt. Tailored to a high-waist, tight-fitting style with a layered, peekaboo scallop hem, it recalls flirty styles of the 1970s. This skirt fastens at the rear with four hidden large snap closures, concealed by crochet with a pretty scallop hem. The loose weave allows for flashes of skin, while the almost-twee crochet balances out the overt sexiness.

This highly collectable skirt is in excellent condition; if we are being really picky, there are a few edges which have just the faintest tinge of off-white as the garment has aged. However, she is clean and ready to wear and we only noticed looking very intently with the skirt in hand. These tinges would never be seen when worn and the skirt is a very white colour. Composed of 100% Cotton and labelled an Italian size 40, a UK 8, or US 4. These measurements are on the slim side even if the crochet weave allows for a tiny bit of give and we think it better suited to a UK 6-8 or US 2-4. This fit our model who is also a UK 6-8 or US 2-4 and there is plenty of room on the waist.
