Description

This romantic printed 1970s organza dress is by high-end occasion designer Vera Mont. We've had several early pieces by this designer over the years and they never fail to disappoint, they're always really well made with quality fabrics and attention to detail in the design. This is a typical 1970s bohemian design and draws inspiration from the Art Nouveau arts period of the early 1900s. The 1970s psychedelic movement took inspiration from Art Nouveau’s flowing, organic lines and stylised natural forms. This dress is printed with horizontal bands of Art Nouveau-inspired pattern in dusky pink, royal purple, olive green, violet, navy and burgundy. It is cut to a maxi-dress length with a straight bust and delicate, patterned spaghetti straps. The top is cut loose and the waist is nipped in, giving way to an A-line skirt. The top is detailed with a ruffled layer of coordinating fabric. The dress is lined with navy satin and fastens at the centre back with a hidden tonal zip and hook-and-eye.

This novelty print dress is in excellent vintage condition with no issues of any note. It has no size or composition labels and the fabric has no stretch. A good fit for a size UK 8-10 or US 4-6.
