2000s Christian Lacroix Black Linen Flax Jacket with Applique Flowers

This embellished jacket was designed by Christian Lacroix for his mainline collection at the start of the millennium - circa 2000. It is tailored from black flax-linen which is soft and textured, to a boxy, elongated silhouette. Designed with a pointed collar and a concealed button placket; the buttons fasten into an inner facing lined in vivid red and tangerine silk, matching the full interior lining. Buttons are faux mother-of-pearl printed in black, leaving small polka-dot windows where the natural iridescence shows through. The lower third of the jacket is constructed from black mesh and richly embellished with appliqué flowers and petals in silk chiffon, velvet, and satin. The colour palette of these petals includes red, pale blue, yellow, green, black, and white - an expressive, signature Lacroix palette.

This jacket is in excellent condition with no issues. Labelled a French 38, UK 10 or US 6 but vintage sizes run a bit smaller for Lacroix so please check the measurements below. The fabric has no stretch. Our model's sizes are: Bust: 31" (80cm), Waist: 25" (64cm), Hips: 34" (87cm) and Height 5' 4" (164cm). She's a size UK 6, US 2 and this looked great on her with room to spare.
