2009 Christian Dior Metallic Black Bar Jacket with Bow Front

This bar jacket was designed by John Galliano for Christian Dior’s Fall 2009 commercial collection. This feminine take on a suit jacket is tailored from a glossy black wool-silk mix which has a silver thread running through it. The jacket has an open collar and V-neck which gives way to pleating towards the waist. Here Galliano’s masterful tailoring can be seen in the careful ruching at the front and the addition of a large floppy bow in coordinating fabric which sits at the centre front of the waist and is secured with hidden fabric-covered snap closures. There are two welt pockets at the hips. The jacket is lined with black silk.

In excellent vintage condition with no issues and looks barely worn. It is 62% Wool, 33% Silk, 5% Polyester and lined with 100% Silk. Labelled a UK 16, US 12, the fabric has no stretch. Our model's sizes are: Bust: 37” (94cm), Waist: 31” (80cm), Hips: 45” (114cm) and Height: 5' 10.5" (180cm). She's a size UK 12 or US 8 - it was a great fit on her over the top of a dress so it might stretch to a UK 14 or US 10 as well - Galliano's Dior sizing is notoriously small.
