Couture 1960s Burnt Orange Silk Chiffon Gown with Crystal Bead Embellishments
Description
This magnificent late-1960s gown exudes haute couture quality and is tailored from silk chiffon adorned with beadwork. The burnt orange silk chiffon overlay showcases fabulous crystal embellishment; silver-toned bugle beads are arranged to create a fine vertical design which intensifies around the bodice, interspersed with horizontal waves of prong set crystal rhinestones and tear drop shaped beads. The V-neckline and wide shoulder straps feature hundreds of bugle beads which lift from the surface to create a pronounced, fringe-like trim. Lined with opulent satin, the bodice has concealed cups to support the bust. The bodice tucks neatly at the waist, before flaring into an elegant floor-sweeping skirt. Layers of underskirt in organza, sateen and soft net at the hem excite movement in the fabric in a true Hollywood Silver Screen style that glides when worn. The designer of this exceptional gown is unknown, however it is a rare and remarkable piece of couture.
This gown is in excellent vintage condition with no flaw to the incredibly detailed beadwork or delicate silk chiffon. It has no size or composition label but we believe it would best suit US size 2-4, UK size 6-8. Please check our measurements below carefully. The fabric has no stretch.
