1987 Yves Saint Laurent Runway Documented Gold Moiré Pencil Skirt

This opulent gold pencil skirt walked the runway as part of Saint Laurent’s Fall 1987 collection. Crafted from a mesmerising thick metallic cotton-mix moiré, it epitomises the decadence of the era of excess. Tailored to a pencil skirt style, it has a high-waist, hip-hugging fit and falls to above the knee. The front is detailed with two slanted welt pockets which emphasise the hips. The skirt is fully lined with a rich cream–gold satin. It fastens at the left side of the waist with a hidden tonal zip. An angular tab in the waistband conceals a hook-and-bar closure.

Made in France, this piece is in excellent vintage condition with no issues and looks barely worn. The fabric composition is 50% Cotton, 44% Viscose, 6% Metallics. The lining is 55% Acetate, 45% Rayon. The dress is labelled a vintage French size 40 but please check our measurements below as the skirt has no stretch and runs small on the waist. We believe that this would best fit a size UK 8-10, US 4-6 or smaller.
