1990s Thierry Mugler Yellow Textured Cotton Dress

This is such a great fitted example of Thierry Mugler’s genius with superb and complex construction details from the cap sleeves through to the V panelled and shaped bodice. The skirt has wide, flamboyant front facing pockets on the fitted tulip shaped skirt. The back of the dress echoes the front with shaped panelling but the dress fastens with a full length set of poppers. The waistband, only visible from the back transforms into a fabric belt tie as it approaches the side seam. This can be taken to the front and fastened or could be folded back on itself depending on the look the wearer desires.

The dress has had the sizing label cut out at some point but it's a petite size and best suited for around a UK 6, USA 2. The dress has the original shoulder pads and overall is in very good vintage condition with age appropriate wear. There are a couple of very small marks on one of the cap shoulders but other than that there are no issues of any note and this piece presents very well. Our model is a UK 6-8 and 5ft 4in (163 cm) and this dress fit her well, it was a little big on the bust and slightly tight around the legs, however you can undo the bottom button on the back of the dress for more room.
