1930s Floral Crepe Maxi Tea Dress with Short Jacket
Description
A true vintage 1930s floral crepe tea dress, ankle length with a beautifully fluid drape. Cut with slim coordinating straps and a higher-set bust typical of the era, it features a gentle V-neckline and a softly scooped V-back fastening with multiple concealed hook-and-eyes. The neckline and upper bust are internally faced in black crepe to help the dress hold its shape, while a high, curved waistband defines the silhouette before falling into a full, flowing A-line skirt that sweeps the floor. Panelled in construction and unlined, the lightweight crepe moves effortlessly when worn. The set is completed by a matching unlined bolero jacket in the same floral fabric, with short puff sleeves and delicately gathered cuffs.
The dress is in very good antique condition, particularly for a garment of nearly 90 years of age and she is without fault. Wearable 1930s dresses are rare to market and this has survived as it is very well made. Please check the measurements below as the fabric has no stretch. In our opinion, a best fit for sizes up to a size UK 8-10 or US 4-6 and smaller as it has currently has limited access.
