1980s Ivory Lace Wrap-Around Wedding Dress
Description
A really lovely example of a 'high street' wedding dress from the late 1980s to early 1990s from the 'Something Special' range for Dorothy Perkins. The clothing brand has been in continuous operation since 1909 and is best known for backing the Biba fashion brand during the early 1970s.
The dress is tailored from ivory lace which has a slight sheen to it and, up close, it showcases a pattern of flowers, vines and ribbons. The handkerchief hemline varies but in general, this is a knee length dress and perfect for a slightly more casual bride or for a party look after the ceremony. It has a wrap-around silhouette that forms a V-neckline at the front and rear, revealing a flash of skin. The fabric is gathered at the shoulders and falls diagonally across the body, crossing at the waist and middle of the back. This dress is lined with ivory crepe.
In excellent vintage condition with no flaws of any note and freshly laundered. It is labelled a UK 12, Euro 38, which equates to a US size 8 but please check the below measurements. There is no composition label. The fabric has a tiny bit of stretch to it.
