Description

This dress walked the runway as part of Kenzo’s Spring 2000 collection which celebrated the 30th anniversary of founder Kenzō Takada's career as a fashion designer. This was Kenzo's final collection for his namesake brand before his retirement. Throughout his career, Kenzo had embraced a vibrant, eclectic aesthetic that blended global influences with highly wearable silhouettes, and this collection was a showreel of highlights nestled amongst the new collection. This dress was a stand-out piece - shown in both blue and pink floral colourways - designed to showcase Kenzo's skill in making vibrant, feminine and flattering gowns that women want to wear.

Made in France, the dress is tailored from a lightweight silk crepe; a background of pale candy pink provides the perfect setting for blown up roses in fuchsia, tangerine and yellow. It has a column silhouette that gently follows the wearer’s curves and gives way to a three-tiered ruffled hem that falls to the mid-calf. The dress is lined with pale pink crepe. It fastens at the back with a hidden pale pink zip.

In excellent archival vintage condition with no issues. The composition label reads 100% Silk with a lining of 100% Polyester. The size is a French 38 but please double-check the measurements below as vintage sizes tend to run small. Our model's sizes are: Bust: 34" (87cm), Waist: 24" (61cm), Hips: 34.5" (88cm) and Height: 5' 7" (170cm). She's a size UK 6, US 2 and this looks great on her with room to spare; maybe not up to a UK 10 but if you are in-between sizes it will work well - around a UK 8-10 or US 4-6.
