Vintage Sonia Rykiel Floral Summer Dress with Flounces, UK10

A fabulously feminine vintage summer dress by Sonia Rykiel, 1990s, from the archive of film costume designer Annie Symons.

Made of fine lawn cotton with hand painted red carnation motif, this sleeveless dress has a deep V neck with ruffle front and back.  It is cut on the bias close to the hips, where the skirt flares out to below the knee in a series of hanging semicircular flounces, which have a flirty flamenco feel. Deep armholes with magenta satin trim. There is an optional matching tie belt at the hips.  Side zip, unlined.
