1950s Monochrome Shirtwaister Dress with Novelty Houndstooth Print
Description
This unusual cotton dress was made in the 1950s by Welsmere Fashions and is tailored to a full-skirted, pleated style typical of this era. It has short-sleeves and a nipped-in waist. It has a collared neckline and single large pearlescent button. The dress is patterned with a playful novelty print that showcases a painterly, abstract take on a classic houndstooth print in black and white monochrome. The skirt is box-pleated and kicks out around the wearer as they walk. This dress is unlined.
In excellent vintage condition with no flaws; the cotton is fresh looking, clean and ready to wear. Due to its age, it does not have a size or composition label so please check our below measurements carefully. The fabric has no stretch. We estimate a good fit for around a UK 10 or US 6.
