1991 Runway Chanel Cream and Brown Skirt Suit

This documented vintage Chanel cream silk suit was designed by Karl Lagerfeld and the design, in black and white, walked the runway for the spring summer 1991 collection. Tailored from cream shot silk and detailed with brown grosgrain trim, it perfectly exemplifies the casual chic synonymous with this classic and celebrated brand. The 100% raw silk outer of the jacket is a warm soft cream tone, and showcases the natural texture of the fabric beautifully. The rich chocolate brown grosgrain that features on the V neck collar, hem and buttons complements in both texture and colour, with double trim on the cuffs and four front pockets to serve as a simple yet artful embellishment. The antique style buttons at the front are covered in the same grosgrain fabric, and are adorned with a striking gold metal knot design. Both pieces are elegantly fitted and fully lined in silk embossed with the iconic CC motif. The skirt is neatly tailored around the waist and hips, and is a classic straight cut with a double trim to echo the jacket, which rests playfully on the knee.
This ensemble is in excellent vintage condition with no damage or discolouration to the silk. Made in France, it is labelled a French size 40 but this runs small so please check our below measurements carefully. It has no composition label and the fabric does not stretch. We believe this would best fit a UK 10, US 6 and sizes smaller.
