Description

Spring / summer 2002 Tom Ford for Yves Saint Laurent khaki skirt suit from the famed safari collection. This safari-esque tailoring is something of a signature look, made popular by Yves Saint Laurent in 1968 with the now infamous Saharienne dress. The look has been reinvigorated in several collections since. Tom Ford's version is rather sexy with its sleek, fitted look and sharp tailoring. The single breasted jacket, which falls below the hip to create an elongated silhouette, features a three button closure with two front flap pockets either side. We particularly love the pintuck detail on the sleeves which have a slitted opening to allow for them to be folded back upon themselves, revealing the pin-tucked bands. They can also be left unturned for a plainer look as we have photographed here.

The skirt falls to the knee with a kick pleat at the back, and has a wide waistband, complete with six rows of contrast stitching to mirror the cuffs of the jacket.

100% Cotton. Both jacket and skirt are fully lined in acetate. Made in France. The set is labelled a French 34 and is true to size. This particular client was a very small UK size 6-8 or US 2-4. Both the jacket and skirt look barely worn and are in fabulous vintage condition with no issues. Our model is a UK 6-8 and 5ft 4in (163cm), the skirt was a tight fit on her and the jacket was a good fit.
