1960s Black Crepe Wrap Over Lace Ruffle Hem Dress

This is a fabulous 1960s crepe and lace ruffle evening dress that reminds us so much of Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast at Tiffanys! The shift design just has such timeless appeal and this one is so well made. The fabric is a good quality wool blend crepe that falls very nicely. Of particular note is the striking lace ruffle around the V neck that crosses over at the front giving the dress a wrap around appearance. This detail then falls down to the hemline and away to the right hand side seam. The waistline of the dress is broken up with a little crepe bow. The lace is at least double layered and stands quite proud away from the dress. It fastens to the rear with the original metal zip. The manufacturer's label is no longer attached; however, this is a British made garment with the only remaining label urging you to dry clean the dress :-) What a pity we'll never know who made it!

It will best fit up to a UK size 12, US 8 and is shown here on a model who is size UK 8-10 so can accommodate smaller sizes too.
