1960s Fortnum and Mason Cerise Pink Chiffon Maxi Dress
Description
From 1908 to the mid-1970s, the world-famous London store Fortnum and Mason sold clothing under its own name. This vivacious, fuchsia maxi dress was designed by Geral Paris and made in Switzerland most probably in the late 1960s or early 1970s. It is tailored as a one-shoulder silhouette from silk and chiffon, both layers printed with splashy blown-up florals - and the perfect floaty but elegant piece for any summer event. It is secured under the left arm with a tonal, hidden zip. The original green-and-red label reads “f.m.” and “Made in Switzerland”. This piece is presented in excellent vintage condition with no issues of any note. It's quite generous in terms of sizing and we recommend a best fit for up to a UK size 10-12 or US 6-8. Our model (5ft 4in / 163cm) is a UK 6-8 and this was roomy on her.
