1987 Yves Saint Laurent Pink Cotton Braque Dove Dress

Inspired by artist Georges Braque's dove lithographs and often sketched by Yves himself, the dove of peace has long been a signature motif of the Saint Laurent fashion house. Flying among vibrant blue flowers across this vibrant pink dress, this dress is from the spring / summer 1987 ready to wear collection. Cut from cotton, this smock-style dress features balloon sleeves with elasticated, gathered cuffs, large faceted white plastic buttons and a wide boat-neckline. A bonus are the hidden side pouch pockets. The label reads “Saint Laurent Rive Gauche”, a reference to Paris’s younger and trendier left bank. This dress is in excellent vintage condition, very fresh looking and with no discernible issues. Marked a French 42, this dress can be worn by a variety of sizes up to a UK 14 or US 10. There was room to spare in the dress for our model who is a UK 6-8 and is 5ft 4in / 163 cm.
