Description
Documented Chanel dress from the Fall 2005 Ready-to-Wear collection, where it was worn by model Carmen Kass as an incredible layering piece, with knee high boots and a bardot sweater. Minimalist and revealing slip dresses dominated the runway in the late 1990s and early 2000s - another similar Chanel example can be seen here on Linda Evangelista.

The main body of the dress is made up of a sheer black chiffon silk and features a high scope neck and spaghetti straps, cut slightly lower at the back than at the front. The dress also has two vertical seams which add shaping around the bust, and two further seams, connected to the straps, which run down the back to create a more feminine shape. The skirt flares out from the lower hip in a series of box pleats and is almost flapper like in style. Central zip fastening to the rear.

Labelled a French 36, our model is usually a size UK 10, US 6 on her lower half, though we recommend that the dress would best fit a size UK 8 or US 4 as it was a little tight on the hip. Great vintage condition - no issues.
