Description

We really love the simplicity of the design of this smock dress. Its so well made it could be anywhere from the late 1930s through to the early 1960s and has a timeless, contemporary feel. Note the scallop hems and pretty sage-green stitching that trims the square-neckline and fluttering short-sleeves. The dress is cut to a relaxed, floaty fit with a calf-length skirt. It is detailed with intricate smocking across the chest and around the waist which is stitched with sage-green thread. At the back of the shoulders, the dress has a curved hemline under which soft pleats fall down the length of the dress. The waist is cinched by two apron ties that are attached to the side of the waist. It is unlined with no fastenings so simply pulls on over the head.

In really fabulous vintage condition with no issues and although unlabelled, it is a very well made homemaker piece. Our model is: Bust: 37” (94cm), Waist 31” (80cm), Hips: 45” (114cm) and 5' 10.5" (180cm), this dress was a great fit on her with room to spare. Due to the apron style, it will fit a wide variety of sizes up to a UK 16 or US 12.
