1980s Franco Moschino Novelty CD and Tape Deck Reversible Jacket
Description
This is a rare, double-sided late 1980s novelty-print padded bomber jacket designed by the founder, Franco Moschino for Moschino Jeans. He established this range for women in 1986, showing his first collection that same year. The line focused on high quality, well constructed garments. This archival jacket is cut to a classic 'bomber' style silhouette with a cocooning cut and ribbed, elasticated cuffs and a curved collar in black. Made from a high quality, smooth cotton-mix satin and - true to Moschino's playful style and taste for the unusual - it is reversible. On one side, the black satin is boldly printed all-over with CDs. On the reverse, is a print showing a Compact Disc Player hi-fi system with the brand name “MOSCHIFO” - a highly contemporary, futuristic print at this time. Both sides are finished with two slit pockets. The front fastens with a bronze metal zip with Moschino peace logo zip-pull. In 2018, Jeremy Scott, who was creative director of Moschino at the time re-released the CD print as part of a limited edition collaboration with H&M.
The jacket is in very good to excellent vintage condition and has been very well looked after. We noted a few tiny pulls to the satin - not noticeable to the casual eye when worn. The fabric is 52% Cotton, 42% Viscose alongside other fabrics made of 100% Rayon and 100% Polyester. It’s labelled an Italian size 46 but is designed to be worn oversized - please check our measurements below. Our model's sizes are: Bust: 33" (84cm), Waist 26" (66cm), Hips: 34" (86cm) and 5' 7" (170cm) and she's a size UK 6, US 2. The whole team has tried this on at Circa and its a really good fit on all of us - we range from a UK 6, US 2 to a UK 14 or US 10-12.
