Description

This two-piece, couture-made trouser suit was designed in the 1970s and were popularised by luxury French designers Ted Lapidus and Yves Saint Laurent. Drawing on the safari styling that was so in vogue during this era, it features wide lapels, chunky tonal buttons and patch pockets which close with silver-tone metal buckles. The jacket is tailored from raw silk in rich buttery beige with tonal stitching. It is fully lined in peach viscose / acetate. The high-waist trousers have a wide-leg cut with single pleats at the front and back of each leg. They are unlined and fasten with a hidden zip and hook-and-eye closure to the front.

The label reads ‘Delmar Couture - 193 Sloane Street, Knightsbridge London SW1’ and is a made to order or bespoke ensemble. In excellent vintage condition with no flaws of any note and we think it will work on sizes up to UK 10 or US 6.  Our model is a UK 8-10 and 5ft 11in (180cm) and this suit fit her well.
