1970s Frank Usher Cream Ivory Lace Dress With Matching Bolero
Description
This charming 1970s ivory lace dress with matching bolero is by popular British designer Frank Usher and is in wonderful vintage condition with some exquisite design features. The dress has a beautiful simplicity of line and emulates a 1950s style ballerina dress, with a scalloped sweetheart neckline, dainty spaghetti straps, fitted bodice and a 3/4 length skirt. The poly Jersey underlay fabric is a rich cream ivory in subtle contrast to the pretty lace overlay of a lighter cream shade. The fine net fabric is machine embroidered with an intricate criss-cross design which presents intermittently in horizontal scalloped panels interspersed with sheer net. A wide set ivory satin ribbon trim is sewn into the bodice at the waistline and there is a concealed zip fastening to the left. The shrug style bolero is comprised of matching lace, although is unlined and therefore sheer. It can be drawn in at the waist as desired. It is collarless and falls open at the front in a deep plunge, and has pretty half length sleeves with a frill at the elbow. This lovely ensemble would make a beautiful choice of alternative bridal wear. Could be worn together or as separates. Would fit up to US 2, UK 6. Our model is a UK 6-8 and 5ft 4in. (163cm) and this dress was a good fit on her.
