Description

This pretty 1970s purple empire line dress with butterfly motif has a bohemian, summery feel. The full length dress is comprised of a fine rayon fabric for the skirt in a lilac shade which softens into a pink hue around the jersey bodice, and wide waistband detail. The skirt features pleasing mini fine pleating as was famously used by Mariano Fortuny for his delphos gowns. The bodice is sleeveless, with a deep scoop neck mirrored at the reverse to expose the upper back and shoulders. The rolled seams are hand finished and there is a central zip fastening at the reverse. The piece is unlined and semi sheer. In lovely condition, would best suit US size 4-6, UK size 8-10. It is worthy of note that although due to the cut there is plenty of give in the hip area, the bust is relatively small and would unlikely suit a fuller figure. The dress is unlabelled and of excellent couture standard.
