Description

In the 2000s, Zac Posen emerged as one of New York’s most celebrated young designers, renowned for his sculptural tailoring, dramatic eveningwear, and revival of old-Hollywood glamour that reintroduced couture-level craftsmanship to the contemporary fashion scene. This buttercup-yellow dress walked the runway on supermodel Carmen Kass as look 27/38 for the brand’s Spring 2006 collection. Tailored from vibrant yellow silk, it is generously cut and has a voluminous silhouette that swirls breezily around the wearer as they walk, culminating in a puffball hemline. The neckline is rounded and detailed with pleated silk and glittering lurex thread. There are small straps holding it up. These are cut from yellow silk and playfully detailed with fabric loops. The short, open sleeves fall from the shoulders leaving them bare. These are crafted from cotton with a tonal gingham pattern, and are detailed with fabric buttons and loops and have a drawstring at the cuff. The front of the dress showcases small semi-circular pockets, also detailed with fabric buttons and metallic thread. The dress has a removable wide belt that is tailored from yellow silk and embroidered with horizontal stripes of metallic thread.

Presented in excellent vintage condition. It is made from 100% Silk, another cloth that is 71% Cotton, 29% Silk, and another that is 79% Silk, 15% Viscose, 6% Lurex, with a lining of 100% Silk. Labelled a size US 6, UK 10, we have provided measurements below.
