2008 Christian Dior by John Galliano Teal Silk Chiffon Dress
Description
This Christian Dior teal silk dress was designed for the spring 2008 commercial collection. Created during John Galliano’s heyday at the helm of the fashion house, this vibrant blue-green silk gown showcases many of his design hallmarks. Today, pieces from Galliano’s 15 year reign at Dior are incredibly sought-after. The bodice has a one-shoulder construction, smothered in pleated teal silk chiffon which is gently ruched and ripples across down the shoulder and across the bust. The dress has an empire-line cut. The skirt flows from under the bust and falls to the calf. It is generously cut from teal silk and gently pleated, swirling around the body in a flattering, playful manner that is a Galliano signature. It has a pretty ruffled hem. The dress fastens under the left arm with nine delicate fabric-covered buttons through fabric loops, six hidden plastic snap closures and a hidden silver-tone hook-and-eye clasp. It is lined throughout with matte teal silk.
This piece is in excellent vintage condition with no flaws or marks. It is made from 100% silk with 100% silk lining. The label reads “Christian Dior Paris”. Labelled a UK 14 or French 42, the fabric does not have any stretch to it. Our model's sizes are: Bust: 37” (94cm), Waist 31” (80cm), Hips: 45” (114cm), 5' 10.5" (180cm) and she's a size UK 12-14, US 8-10. This dress was a great fit for her.
