Description

This party dress was designed by bridal and evening wear designer David Fielden during the late 1990s to early 2000s. Tailored from thick black silk, it is smothered in tiny ring-shaped sequins. These have been painted in an abstract, ombré manner across the top which fades from black through grey to white. The top is shaped to a particularly Y2K silhouette, with a rounded neckline and unusual curved armholes and cap-sleeves - this forms an armour or body plate-like shape across the torso. There is black velvet piping around the collar, echoing the curves of the body. The skirt is full and tailored from black net adorned with raw-edged ruffles of net and black sequin-covered net. The skirt is lined with thick black tulle and a bottom layer of grey-beige and black satin for a comfortable wear. The top is lined with black satin. It fastens at the back with a hidden black tonal zip and silver-toned metal hook-and-eye. This dress has been numbered by hand with “7722”.

In excellent vintage condition with no issues. It has no size or composition labels so please check our measurements below. The fabric has no stretch. Our model's sizes are: Bust: 34" (87cm), Waist 24" (61cm), Hips: 34" (86cm) and 5' 4" (164cm) and she's a size UK 4-6, US 0-2. We believe that this dress would best fit up to a size UK 6-8 or US 2-4 with a trim waist although there is plenty of room in the hip.
