1940s Floral Cold Rayon and Navy Crepe Shirt Volup Dress
Description
It is unusual to come across an original vintage rayon and crepe dress from the 1940s in a rare, larger size and we believe this will fit up to a modern size UK 20 or US 16. Composed of two different fabrics, it has a smooth rayon top and a navy-blue crepe skirt with a slight waffle texture. The top is tailored from sheer russet brown rayon printed with white flowers with green and purple detailing. The sleeves are cut to a slightly bell-sleeve style with snap closures on the cuffs. The neck has a wide point collar detailed with four rows of brown running stitches. The neckline has an opening that is fastened with a snap closure. A pretty ruffle hangs from the centre of the collar down the front of the dress. The skirt has two soft pleats at the front. The dress is unlined.
In truly excellent vintage condition with no issues. It was probably bespoke made by a very competent seamstress and good quality fabrics have been used. There is no size or composition label, so please check our below measurements closely as the fabric has no stretch.
