Description

Tom Ford parted ways with the Gucci Group in 2004, stepping down from his role as Creative Director at both Gucci and Yves Saint Laurent. Made in France, this piece was created by Ford for Yves Saint Laurent's Fall 2003 collection and is one of the last pieces he designed for the house. A skirt of the same silhouette (but in red) featured in Yves Saint Laurent's Fall 2003 ad campaign. Drawing on the label’s iconic lip print first released in 1971, this skirt reimagines the vibrant print in burnt orange across champagne silk. The 1971 collection became one of Yves Saint Laurent’s most memorable shows and this print is now highly collectable today. Abstract lip shapes smother the skirt, broken up by the instantly recognisable “YSL” logo. Tailored to a high-waist fit, it has an elasticated waistband with a playfully ruffled edge. The hem of the skirt has a pretty cut-out detail that adds a peekaboo appeal. The skirt is fully lined with burnt orange silk.

The skirt is in great vintage condition with no faults. The label states that it is 100% Silk but unfortunately there is no size label, so please check our measurements below carefully. The fabric has no stretch to it but the elasticated waist allows for about 6cm of flexibility on the waist measurement. Would fit a range of sizes up to a UK 12 or US 8.
