1960s Couture Turquoise and Gold Floral Lamé Maxi Dress
Description
This striking gown was couture crafted in the late 1960s to early 1970s. The fabric is really the star of the show; thick aqua jacquard is textured with geometric, floral and cloud-shaped embroidery in glittering metallic gold. This dress comes alive when it catches the light so perfect for more formal events or a glitzy evening do. Empire-line tailoring means it falls to the floor with generous swathes of fabric enveloping the wearer. The open collar and super wide lapel plays to the era’s tastes whilst a thick waistband in coordinating cloth cinches the silhouette. Finished with a hidden zip in tonal turquoise at the rear and fully lined in white viscose.
The dress is in superb vintage condition with no issues of any note and a good fit for up to a UK 12 or US 8. Of note, there are very generous seam allowances for alterations if needed. Unlabelled but superbly made and most likely in the US. Our model is a UK 8-10, US 4-6 and this was a little roomy on her.
