1940s Long Pleated Black Crepe Dress

Beautiful and original 1940s mid-weight black crepe dress with cross over diagonal pleating on the bodice and hips. This is a fantastic understated vintage gown, asymmetric in style and very typical of the era when shoulders and hips were the fashion focus. Has cap sleeves, a high v-neck and a flattering full length skirt. It fastens at the side with concealed poppers. There are also a couple of poppers on the bust for ease with changing and they too are concealed. There is a waist tie which does up around the back. There are no maker or sizing labels but the dress is very well made and in very good vintage condition; just some very small insignificant mends around the hem line that are virtually invisible.
