1950s Novelty Dragon Print Cotton Dress
Description
This 1950s cotton novelty print dress is tailored to a full-skirted, pleated style typical of this era. It has short-sleeves and a nipped-in waist. The square-neckline is held in place by gathered pieces of cotton in a pale chartreuse hue. The dress is patterned with a playful novelty print that features sage-green geometric patterns and coiled royal blue and burgundy dragons. The skirt is box-pleated and kicks out around the wearer as they walk falling below knee length. The fabric, a lightweight cotton, is unlined. I love wearing these dresses in the colder months with ribbed tights and a warm slouchy jumper or cardigan.
A very well made dress-maker piece with such a good print, I don't think we've seen a dragon print before! In excellent vintage condition with no flaws of any note and is fresh and ready to wear. There are no labels present and we have provided the below measurements; the fabric has no stretch. Suitable for sizes up to a UK 8-10 or US 4-6 with plenty of room on the hip.
