1999 Valentino Runway Dusky Pink Slip Dress with Embellished Straps

This archival Valentino dress walked the runway on supermodel Esther Cañadas for the House's Fall 1999 collection. Tailored from pink silk-satin which shines a warm grey or dusky pink depending on the light. It is cut to a simple slip-dress silhouette with a column-shaped front and sensuous low-back. There is a low-V cut at the bust. This dress is wonderfully made - as you’d expect of Valentino from this period - and is carefully lined with candy pink satin at the top, down to the hips. The stand-out detail is the abstract embellishment across the wide straps, which fall over the shoulder and meet an embellished band at the back of the waist. The straps are crafted from candy pink silk and striped with sage green thread. They are further detailed with chocolate brown and metallic gold embroidery, alongside iridescent pink and gold beads, and glistening brown sequins. The dress fastens under the left arm with a tonal zip.

This dress is in excellent vintage condition with no issues of any note. 100% Silk and labelled a size US 8. Vintage sizes run smaller and this is better suited to a UK 8-10 or US 4 and below. The fabric has no stretch so please check our measurements closely.
