Description

Made in the USA, this vivacious dress was designed by Susan Friar in the late 1970s to early 1980s. Beloved for her outlandish prints during this era, this dress showcases a bold rainbow-hued print of geometric patterns which form stripes along the cloth. The neckline is cut to a wrap-style and adorned with a flamboyant pleated ruffle collar. The waistband is smocked, as was the vogue at the time, and is finished with a large pleated ruffle that forms a peplum around the waist. The sleeves are long and cut to a voluminous bell-sleeve shape. The skirt is micro-pleated and ends at the lower calf with a ruffle hem. A tie in coordinating fabric finishes the neck, detailed with beads in red and aqua. The fabric contains no stretch, however the waistband is elasticated. The dress is unlined. There are pads in the shoulders.

In excellent vintage condition with no flaws of any note. It is labelled a size Small but please check our measurements below. Made from a very good quality polyester that has a silky feel, we believe this would best fit sizes UK 8-10-12, US 4-6-8.
