Description

This vibrant Chanel elongated jacket walked the runway as part of the Fall 1997 collection, under the creative direction of Karl Lagerfeld. Crafted from a fluffy fantasy tweed, the background is a mossy green wool and mohair-mix and is flecked with rainbow hues. The jacket is highly textured and woven with an assortment of other wools, some ombré dyed so they fade from aqua to tangerine, or raspberry through to violet. The collar, hems and cuffs have a background of black instead of green, still detailed with rainbow cloth. The jacket is single-breasted, cut long and has a relaxed, louche fit which swings around the body. It has a soft, single collar and fastens down the front with black snap closures. The jacket is unlined but has two black pads in the shoulders to shape it slightly. On the left cuff, there is a circular silver-tone metal plaque engraved with “Chanel Paris” and the brand’s double-C logo.

In excellent vintage condition with no issues and looks barely worn. Made in Italy, it is labelled a French size 40, which roughly corresponds to a UK 10-12 or US 6-8 but please check our below measurements. The outer fabric is 30% Acrylic, 30% Viscose, 15% Polyamide, 15% Wool, 5% Polyester, 5% Mohair.
