A 1970s Mary Farrin knitted dress. This is a really versatile piece from renowned British knitwear designer Mary Farrin in a wonderful combination of deep sea foam green, coral pink and white wool acrylic. The style is gently fitted and this dress can also be worn also as a coat or long cardigan. The sleeves are elbow length with a gentle flair adding to its elegant silhouette. The pattern is a loose knit design; perfect for cooler days during the summer months or layer up in the fall/winter. The button stand has 8 genuine pearlescent shell buttons. It is in excellent vintage condition, the wool retains its shape and the colours are bright - it looks barely worn.

Mary Farrin was known as the Queen of the knits, even supplying Angora knits to Christian Dior and she opened her first boutique in fashionable South Molton Street, London in the late 60s. Early items were knitted by local women working away on knitting machines in their own homes. With over 40 stockists and exports to the USA, France and Japan, production moved to the Island of Gozo in the early 70s until the label folded in 1990.

This dress would best fit a UK 10-12, US 6-8.
